The Commonwealth University Libraries provide materials in a variety of formats as a service to students. Our goal is to provide high-quality service while remaining withing the bounds of applicable copyright laws. Our primary education mission requires that we support all fair use of copyrighted materials, while developing reasonable restrictions on access to protect the intellectual rights of authors/creators. This copyright policy guide is intended to provide guidance to the students, faculty, and staff of Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania in understanding and applying the Copyright Law of the United States. This guide will provide educational information and guidelines regarding appropriate uses of copyrighted material. The information on this guide is provided for information purposes only and is not to be used as legal advice. Copyright law is complex and subject to change by new legislation or legal interpretation. Please consult an attorney for legal advice.

Commonwealth Libraries provide access to thousands of books, journals, and videos in physical or electronic format. Our collections include a variety of leisure books and DVDs in addition to scholarly materials.
