What's My Local Competition?

Reference USA is a directory of US businesses and branch locations.  One may use it in analyzing local competition.  For example, if one was writing a marketing plan for a new bagel shop in Bloomsburg PA, one can use this directory to learn what other bagel shops reside in Bloomsburg, or within a specified radius of Bloomsburg.

What is my Target Market?

American Factfinder may be used to gain demographic information for a locale.  For example, one may learn how many 20-30 year olds resie in Bloomsburg, PA.  One may learn how many males reside in Danville, PA.

Euromonitor Passport

Regrettably, Euromonitor Passport is currently unavailable. For demographics and economic data, please consult  CIA World Factbook and Europa World Year Book.

Once you enter Euromonitor Passport, select Search in the top center, be sure that Search Full Tree: Categories & Topics is displayed, then select Go. From here, we can explore the hierarchy of topics and values to produce our tabular data.

For narrative reports and forecasts, use the Consumers and Analytics tabs.  A useful report on global and national economic and consumer trends may be found in Megatrends under Analytics.

Citing Euromonitor Passport

Please click on the MS Word doc below to learn the format to properly cite Passport data.  Keep in mind that in many instances, you only need to cite the "parent" category.  In other words, you do not need to make separate citations for "Male population, 0-5," "Male Population, 6-10," etc.  You only need to cite "Male Population."
