How do you know if a database indexes a particular journal?
- In the database, search for the journal's name in the Journal or Source field. If it's indexed, articles will appear in the search results.
- You can also search Ulrich's Web database for the journal. Ulrich's will state the databases that index a particular journal.
Major chemistry databases
Try searching these databases first:
- American Chemical Society (ACS) PublicationsIndexes all the ACS journals. Note: the library does not subscribe to all the journals but does provide access through interlibrary loan.
- PubMedPubMed, a free National Library of Medicine database, includes over 27 million citations for biomedical articles back to the 1950's.
- SciFinderOnline version of Chemical Abstracts with 18 million+ abstracts. First time users must register on campus and create an account, using this link. - JSTORA searchable collection of over 600 full text journals, some dating back to the 19th century. Recent issues of most journals are embargoed.
