What is Document Delivery? How is it different from Interlibrary Loan?
Document Delivery supplies users with copies of articles and book chapters from materials Andruss Library owns in print or microform.
Document Delivery is for items owned locally; Interlibrary Loan is for items we must borrow from other libraries. However, please use our ILLiad system for BOTH types of requests. Library staff members will determine the best way to fill your request.

Who may use Document Delivery?
Document Delivery services are available to all current students, faculty, and staff. Faculty and Staff with emeritus status are also eligible.

How soon will I get my article?
Document Delivery request are processed on a first-come, first-served basis as staff time permits. We will endeavor to get your article to you with 2 working days, but our average turnaround time is about 18 hours. If you need the item sooner, please visit the library to view or copy it yourself.
Excessive requests (more than 5 per day) from a user may be set aside to process requests from other users. We will return to your requests as time permits.
How do I retrieve my articles?
You will be notified by email when your requested material has been scanned. Retrieval instructions are included in this notification.
Articles are posted to your ILLiad account as a PDF and are available for 60 days. Please retrieve them promptly.
How many requests may I submit?
We ask that you limit your Document Delivery requests to no more than 5 per day. Requests over that threshold may be set aside to process request for other uses. We will return to your requests as time permits.
Why was my request cancelled?
Due to technological and copyright considerations, we will only scan articles less than 40 pages. Requests for more than one chapter from a book or multiple articles from a single journal issues will not be honored. **COVID19 Update: This guideline will be suspended for current emergency and we will scan multiple chapters for you, but not an entire book/entity.**
If your citation is incomplete or if we are unable to locate an article based on your citation, we will cancel the request. Please verify your citation and contact us with further information.
Sometimes Document Delivery is not possible because of the condition of the item. In these cases, we will ask that you come into the library to view the item.
