Access to computers & software

Andruss Library has over 250 desktop computers* with standard Microsoft Office software as well as over 20 laptops that can be checked out for use within the Library.

Who can use the Library's computers?

  • Faculty, staff, and students log onto computers using their HuskyID username and password.
  • Pennsylvania residents log on using their first and last name as the username (with a 'period' between, for example: john.doe) and their 14-digit library number as their password.

*A computer in each lobby area by the elevators is reserved for searching the Library catalog (PILOT).This computer does not require a username/password and is limited to certain university and government websites. Printing is NOT available from these computers.

Does the Library have [fill in the blank] software?

The University provides access to many software programs. Most programs are now accessible using 'RemoteApp', but some software programs are available only on specific computers, like the Specialized Software computers on the 3rd floor of the Library.

How do I access the special software?

  • Software on the Remote App can be accessed from any University computer. Follow the directions here (written for library users) or here (written for general users).
  • Specialized Software on the 3rd floor computers changes each semester/session, so click on the link below for the most recent list.
